Ian C. Lamoureux, M.D.
Ian C. Lamoureux, M.D. is a Phoenix-based forensic psychiatrist, triple-board-certified in psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, and brain injury medicine. This makes him one of a handful of forensic psychiatrists with subspecialty expertise in traumatic brain injury (TBI) and concussions. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix Campus, an Instructor of Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic, and an Assistant Professor with the Creighton University School of Medicine’s department of Psychiatry. He is also the director of the Creighton University School of Medicine Psychiatry Postgraduate Residency Program – Forensic Psychiatry Rotation at Valleywise Health. Dr. Lamoureux completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona Honors College, and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona
Dr. Lamoureux completed his residency in psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. In recognition of his teaching, clinical, and research contributions to the Mayo Clinic Department of Psychiatry and Psychology during his residency, Dr. Lamoureux was awarded the academic title of Instructor. Following residency, Dr. Lamoureux completed his fellowship training in forensic psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University under the supervision of internationally renowned forensic psychiatrist Phillip J. Resnick, M.D.
Dr. Lamoureux's professional interests and expertise include, but are not limited to: mental state at the time of the offense (sanity), competency to stand trial, impaired physicians, violence risk assessment, sexual homicide, serial rape, spree murder, mass murder, death penalty, school violence, psychiatric autopsy, stalking, filicide/infanticide, psychic harm, fire-setting and arson, suicide and self-harm, sexual harassment, police training and selection, fabricated heroism, and psychiatric malpractice.
Dr. Lamoureux was mentored by the late forensic psychiatrist Steven Pitt, D.O. throughout much of his post-graduate training, and was planning to become a partner in Dr. Pitt's practice. Under Dr. Pitt's mentorship, Dr. Lamoureux learned and advanced techniques for integrating video-recorded evaluation transcripts into forensic reports. He additionally learned the value of "investigative psychiatry" and the importance of familiarity with police and evidence-gathering procedures in criminal matters. He is a consultant to the Phoenix Police Department’s Homicide, Violent Crimes, and Missing Persons Bureaus.
Dr. Lamoureux has published and widely presented his original research in forensic psychiatry. He has been invited to speak on forensic psychiatric issues in a number of academic settings. Selected presentation topics include, but are not limited to: impaired physicians, mass shootings, false allegations of sexual assault, fabricated heroism, and civil commitment for chemical dependency.
Dr. Lamoureux has worked in a consulting role with law enforcement in Rochester, MN. His work with law enforcement in Rochester, MN helped launch a pilot-project embedding mental health professionals with law enforcement officers to respond to psychiatric crises. While in Cleveland, OH, Dr. Lamoureux taught crisis intervention training classes to law enforcement officers.

John R. DeQuardo, M.D.
John R. DeQuardo, M.D., is a Distinguished Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association and nationally renowned expert in Clinical Psychopharmacology. Dr. DeQuardo earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater with his B.S. in psychology. He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan Schizophrenia Program - Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. DeQuardo has spent his professional career studying and treating individuals suffering from psychotic and severe mood disorders, including the pharmacologic treatment of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. Board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. DeQuardo has spent his career working in acute inpatient psychiatric hospitals. The former Superintendent of the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo (CMHIP), Dr. DeQuardo is currently an Attending Psychiatrist at CMHIP and a Principal Investigator at Radiant Research - Denver.
In addition to being a reviewer of scientific studies for multiple scholarly publications, Dr. DeQuardo has 65 research/clinical publications and made more than 90 scholarly presentations at scientific meetings. He has been a faculty member at University of Wisconsin and University of Michigan, and is currently a Senior Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
